Patent Louisiana Operations Shipping Products for Katrina Disaster Recovery

Although Patent’s facilities in New Orleans, Slidell, and Pearl River suffered significant damage to their buildings from Hurricane Katrina, earlier flooding has receded and the yards are once again accessible on an intermittent basis. Patent’s entire New Orleans administrative and engineering staff has established an emergency headquarters within Patent’s Houston Branch to manage the supply of scaffolding, shoring, and formwork for the rebuilding of damaged structures across the full length of the affected Gulf Coast.

Patent has engineers and management personnel in downtown New Orleans frequently who are available to consult with government recovery administrators, contractors, and building owners on ways Patent can meet their needs. It also has sales representatives strategically located in temporary quarters near the Mississippi and Alabama Gulf Coast to serve the entire region.

Patent has already shipped substantial amounts of scaffolding to downtown New Orleans, and Mississippi and Alabama as well, for the repair and reconstruction of damaged high-rise facades. Daily shipments continue. Our shoring products are being used to build sidewalk canopies to protect pedestrians from unstable building glazing and exterior walls in downtown areas.

Shoring and forming from Patent’s complete line of products are also available to contractors and owners with structures requiring foundation work and other structural repairs.

In addition to our standard product line, we have trash chutes and related demolition and clean-up products available for immediate delivery.

Patent can also provide skilled scaffold builders and laborers as needed for fast, safe, and efficient erection of every product it offers.

The New Orleans operations are supported by Patent’s nationwide network, and that support will enable it to supplement its inventory from locations nearby and across the U.S. as additional equipment is required.
